Who they are

A working farm, run by a volunteer board.

Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, the Big Red Barn, teaches Seguin kids where their food comes from: school tours, a pecan museum, and a working farm that hosts events and rentals. It's a 501(c)(3), governed by a volunteer board of directors.

I rebuilt their site about three months before these numbers. What follows is what changed since.

What they started with

  • A dead inquiry form. Messages sent through the old site went nowhere, so silence read as no interest

  • No way to give online. No donate button, no event ticketing, no rental request

  • 6 pages Google couldn't load. The crawler timed out before the old pages answered

  • 191 technical issues. Flagged on the first crawl of the old site, June 2026

What We Did

Three jobs, done in order.

No ad budget behind any of this. A nonprofit run by volunteers doesn't have one. Just a site Google can read, content that keeps working, and a rental page that turns interest into a booking request.

01

Rebuild the website

  • Hand-coded site built around the barn's real mission: education, heritage, and the pecan museum
  • Online donations and event ticketing, so the barn can raise money while the volunteers sleep
  • Built mobile-first, because that's where most visitors land
  • Analytics wired from day one, so growth is measured, not guessed at
02

Build search visibility

  • Every page written for how Seguin families actually search: field trips, rentals, the pecan museum
  • 56 tracked searches now sitting on page 1 of Google, not counting searches for the barn's name
  • Structured data so Google understands it as a nonprofit heritage center and event venue, not a generic farm site
  • Content kept current instead of launched and left
03

Make the rental page convert

  • A dedicated rental page with one job: get the booking request
  • A short inquiry form. No friction, no login
  • 405 views and 19 rental requests in the last 60 days
  • Clear information up front, so fewer emails get spent on back and forth

The Results

What the first three months changed.

Rental and field-trip requests now come in through the site regularly. Three months ago, the same barn had a contact form that couldn't get a message to anybody.

Request counts start June 26, 2026, when tracking went live eight days after launch, so the real total runs higher. Traffic is Google Analytics U.S. visits, not counting known datacenter traffic. Rankings are Search Console 28-day medians through September 28, 2026, brand searches excluded. AI checks are one weekly question asked of each of the three engines. Why the monthly exists

A partner, not a project.

Monthly fees make business owners wary, and they should. You've seen how it goes: somebody builds a website, hands over the keys, and disappears while the invoice keeps coming.

So here is what my monthly actually means. I'm committed to growing your business with you. The website is where we start, not what you're paying for. Every month I'm writing, tuning, watching where you rank and where AI recommends you, and putting a receipt in your hands that shows what moved. When something doesn't move, you read that too.

I won't build you a website and leave you with it.
