It started with the hardest conversation a family can have.

At USAA, I helped build a product called Loss of a Loved One. When a military family lost someone, their finances — insurance, accounts, benefits — became a nightmare on top of grief. We built a single place to handle all of it.

Nobody wanted to build that product. It was uncomfortable. But I kept thinking about the people on the other side of the screen. That work taught me what design is actually for: making hard things easier for real people.

Then I went where the builders are.

At Procore, I worked on software used by the biggest contractors in the country. These are people who pour foundations, frame houses, wire buildings. They don’t have time for clunky tools. They need things that work.

I learned the trades. I learned how builders think. I learned that the best tools stay out of the way. That matters for what I do now.

Then everything changed.

I joined a Series C tech company as a Staff Product Designer. In the past year, I’ve deployed AI assistants across sales, customer success, engineering, product, and marketing — every department. Hundreds of people use these systems every day.

The CEO called me “my prototype for how this should look moving forward.” That’s when I saw the gap.

The small business down the road doesn’t have any of this.

Fortune 500 companies are already running on AI. Every department. Every week. Most small businesses in the Hill Country are still doing everything by hand. That’s the gap I’m here to close.
